Growing up from childhood we learnt that 25th December is the real date of Jesus which is really not true. The date is still unknown, A church in early fourth Century fixed the date as December 25 with a Scientific purpose.

December 25, this date address Winter Solstice in Roman Calendar. For all those who don’t know about Winter Solstice, is a day that occurs when one of Earth’s pole has it’s maximum tilt away from the Sun. It Happens twice yearly once in each hemisphere. 25th December is a day with shortest period of daylight and Longest night of the Year. According to Julian Calendar Merry Christmas is celebrated on 7th January every year. But Probably 90% of Christians celebrate on 25th.

How Christmas day is celebrated?

In various countries the celebration differs. Many countries have a holiday, exchange gifts, Arrange a Beautiful Dinner with Music and watching a play together.

Decoration is the most beautiful thing to watch on a Christmas day. Christmas Trees are decorated with lights, Fresh poinsettias, artificial flowers,  Ornaments, Ribbons and Many More.

Types of Food Cooked on Christmas?

Every countries have different varieties of food as well as desert served on Dinner. In India people Cook Biryani with Chicken or Mutton, whereas Goan Catholics have pork dishes and beef Dishes as part of Main Course for dinner. In sweets mostly pastry or a cake is offered, A famous desert Bebinca is popular on Christmas eve.

The Kerala Christian community is the largest Christianity community in India.
