Ayushman Bharat Yojana Over 3K tested for Covid-19 free of cost

In order to provide a healthy lifestyle for poor people, The government of India launched Pradhan Mantri Ayushman Bharat Yojana in 2018. The main motive of this program is to ease the financial burder for poor people. As the ongoing pandemic of Covid-19 is affecting everyone, The government of India is focusing to check more people which can reduce the spread of the deadly virus.

 

Does Pradhan Mantri Ayushman Bharat yojana Charges for Covid-19 Tests ?

The tests are fully free of cost for those who are initiated under the Yojana. On a record over 3000 people are or already been treated under this Scheme. Probably many of the test are done in slum areas where there is no sanitation, or crowded areas, To control the spread for the ongoing pandemic.


How many Hospitals are assigned for AB-PMJAY (Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana)

The NHA – National Health Authority of India, who is in charge of this scheme for Covid-19 has successfully managed to 1500 Hospitals that too in a duration of 1 month for treatment and other services.

How many more Hospitals will be needed for Covid-19 testing in upcoming days ?

By following the official list, NHA has requested to enroll around 21500 Hospitals, till now only 1400 Hospitals have been registered in this Scheme since April 1,  On an average 58 % of Hospitals are private.

The CEO of NHA : Mr. Indu Bhushan stated, that 1500 hospitals are not sufficient to control the situation, More hospitals will be added in upcoming days, Then too if the number of cases still keeps on increasing, “WE might need help from Private Hospitals” Treatment process in not simple as kits, self isolation needs to be provided instantly.

Indian Council of Medical Research – A.K.A = ICMR has approved private laboratories for Covid-19 testing.

Will there be a list of all enrolled Hospitals ? 

Yes, The NHA authorities are making a Dashboard which will take the feedback from the patients treated over there and through this feedback, It will be more easy for NHA to enhance quality measures and other facilities for all the hospitals available for testing through this feedback (Great Isn’t it ? ).


How many people have applied for AB-PMJAY till now ?

On an average over 530 million which is equal to 53 crore citizens of India have availed this service. And around 3000 citizens have already or are being tested free of cost under this Scheme. National health Authority says.

NHA has made a special team which are using data to track 60 years aged people and above. Anyone who has availed treatment before 3 months for some disease under this yojna are being tracked and checked if they’ve any symptoms for Covid-19.

NHA has their own call center with huge amount of employees who are getting in touch with these people. In a provided statement by NHA, over 7 crore calls have been made till now. The call center is available for 24*7,  As checking world stats, we all know that citizens with age above 60 have higher chance of getting infection. So through this way we can at least prevent some casualties said Mr. INDU BHUSHAN. 

Is AAROGYA setu App used in this procedure ?

Yes Fully, Those who’ve have marked selected cough or fever in a week or two are being called and ensured that they are provided with proper medical help.  Around 6,000,00 people have been contacted and around 15000 have been provided tele-consultation through doctors. For those who don’t know benefits of AAROGYA SETU APP YOU CAN READ IT HERE. You’ll come to know how this app detects if you’ve symptoms of Covid-19 or not. 

This way the data is being utilized and there are chances that less numbers of cases register in upcoming days.

Rural – Categories Covered

The following entities are covered under the Ayushman Bharat Health Scheme:

  • Residing in only one room with kuccha walls and kuccha roof.
  • Landless households finding their income from day to day wages.
  • Female-headed households (When there is no man living with the age of 16-59).
  • Disabled member and no able-bodied adult member(Handicapped member).
  • Scheduled Caste / Scheduled Tribe households.
  • Households without shelter.
  • Destitute – (One who can’t afford anything).
  • Manual scavenger families.
  • Primitive tribal groups.
  • Legally released bonded labour.

Urban – Categories Covered

The following entities are covered under the Ayushman Bharat Health Scheme:

  • Rag picker (We can refer them as Garbage Collector who collects garbage and then sells it to companies who can reuse the materials  such as clothes, plastic bottles ).
  • Beggar.
  • Domestic worker.
  • Street vendor/ Cobbler/ hawker / (In short people selling items in street).
  • Construction worker/ Plumber/ Mason/ Labor/ / Painter/ Welder/ Security guard.
  • Coolie and another head-load worker.
  • Sweeper/ Sanitation worker / Mali.
  • Home-based worker/ Artisan / Handicrafts worker / Tailor.
  • Transport worker/ Driver/ Conductor/ Helper to drivers and conductors/ Cart puller/ Rickshaw puller.
  • Shop worker / Assistant/ Peon in small establishment / Helper / Delivery assistant / Attendant / Waiter.
  • Electrician / Mechanic/ Assembler/ Repair worker.
  • Washer-man / Chowkidar.

So These were some of the categories who can apply for this Scheme.

Who are not eligible for ab-pmjay (Ayushman bharat pradhan mantri jan aarogya yojna) ?

 

  • A 2,3,4 vehicle or a boat owner .
  • Mechanized 3 or 4 wheeler agricultural equipment owner.
  • Kisan credit cardholder with credit limit of over Rs. 50,000.
  • Household member of government employee.
  • Households with non-agricultural enterprises registered with government of India.
  • Any member of family with income more than Rs. 10,000 per month.
  • Paying income tax .
  • Paying professional tax.
  • 3 or more rooms with pucca walls and roof.
  • One who has a refrigerator.
  • One who owns a phone.
  • Owns over 2.5 acres of irrigated land with 1 irrigation equipment.
  • 5 acres or more of irrigated land for two or more crop season.
  • Owning at least 7.5 acres of land or more with at least one irrigation equipment.
